Letter to Robin

Robin,
Dearest daughter.

you are not born yet, but i know your soul is bursting to come down to earth. i haven’t found your father yet.

maybe i have and you know who he is. but I’m not sure yet. i have ideas for who i would like it to be, but there are many more people to meet who will serve as the other half to your foundation.

i cant wait to hold you.
i cant wait to teach you what being confident looks like. while there is no one route to getting there, i'm sure you will understand what it entails very quickly.

i wonder what your laugh is like.
i wonder what color your eyes will be.
i wonder how you will fit as i hold you.

i want to hold your hand.
i want to take you around the world.
i want you to know what its like to be a regular in a spot.
i want to be your teacher.
i want you to be mine and when the time comes, you will be.

i am very young writing you this letter.
21 years old to be exact.
or 21 years young.
i hope you will laugh at that line.

i will make you tea with fresh spices,
i will take you to the theater,
i will support you in the pursuit of happiness,
i will love you unconditionally.

i cant wait to meet you, but one day i will. just not quite yet. don’t take after your mother who lacks patience. it is a virtue.

i love you my rockin robin.
